AIDC 2019 - Indigenous Creators Program

OVERVIEW

Create NSW, in partnership with Screen Australia's Indigenous Department, Australian International Documentary Conference (AIDC), and the following state agencies: Film Victoria, Screen West, Screen Queensland, South Australian Film Corp and Screen Tasmania, are looking to bring emerging Indigenous practitioners to Melbourne for AIDC which will be take place from Sunday 3 March to Wednesday 6 March 2019 at Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI), Melbourne.

AIDC will be adding to its program a number of sessions designed specifically for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander practitioners. These sessions, which will be private and open only to Indigenous-identifying delegates, will provide targeted information and skills around pitching, storytelling, funding, legal and distribution.

The optional program will be made available to all Indigenous practitioners registered to attend AIDC with an All Access or Focus Pass, with more information regarding the program made available in February.

TRAVEL ASSISTANCE

Create NSW are assisting Indigenous practitioners attend with a limited number of travel grants (including reimbursement for AIDC Passes).  

Travel Assistant applications close close Friday 25 January, 2019.

 

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

To be eligible to submit an application to attend the AIDC - Indigenous Program you must be:

1. An early-career practitioner across documentary, factual television and interactive non-fiction work who currently resides in NSW.

2. Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

3. A screen practitioner who has their first or second project ready for the AIDC marketplace.

4. Able to attend the full 4 days of the program.
