Emerging Producer Placement (EPP)

Overview

The Emerging Producer Placement program will provide emerging producers with a unique opportunity to gain experience with NSW screen production companies, in addition to working alongside the Screen NSW Sector Investment team.

This is a fast-track career opportunity that matches highly experienced screen industry practitioners with undiscovered emerging production talent.

Up to three placements will be offered in the 2024/25 round.

The first placement will begin by early 2025 with the dates to be mutually agreed by both parties. The additional placements will begin in the first half of 2025.

The entire placement (including the period at the production company) must be completed within 12 months of commencement at Screen NSW.

Applications for the Emerging Producers Placement Program open on 27 September (10am AEST) and close on 23 October 2024 (2pm AEDT)

Who is Eligible?

You must fulfil the following eligibility requirements:

  • Be an emerging producer who currently resides in NSW. 
  • Identify from one or more of the following under-represented groups:
    • Regional NSW
    • Western Sydney
    • First Nations people
    • People from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
    • People living with disability
    • LGBTQIA+ people.
  • Fulfil one of the following criteria measuring your experience:
    • Have at least one credit as producer on a short film or web series that has screened at one of the festivals on our Eligible Festival List (see Appendix A), or 
    • Have at least 5 years' experience in the screen industry including having worked with an established production company and/or market player (broadcaster, streamer, distributor etc.) in a relevant role.

Priority for one placement will be reserved for an emerging First Nations Producer.

Applicants must also adhere to the general eligible requirements under the Screen NSW Terms of Trade.

You will need to complete this expression of interest detailing how you meet the Selection Criteria and why you believe the attachment would be of value to you at this point in your career.
